Schools out for Summer!!

Today is the last day of school. I am amazed at how much my boys have leanred and grown. They have come so far this year and to say I am proud of them is a understatement. Yesterday both Daxton and Stefon were awarded with a special award called the Distinguished Cub Award. the school sets ceratin goals for each grade level that ths kids have to achieve through out the year and if they do then the achieve the award., In Kindergarten there are 12 things and in 1st grade there are 15. The boys worked hard all year and it paid off. They were so happy yesterday while up on stage getting their medal and certificate. It makes me a proud mama for sure! Both the boys teachers were amazing all year, so loving patient, kind and supportive. I couldnt have asked for better teachers for the boys this year. My kids loved their teachers and their teachers loved them back. After the Kindergarteners got their awards they did a little program it was so cute. I love watching the kids at their age singing and doing the actions etc. You can tell their personalities for sure! Such cute kiddos. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be these boys mama and for the chance to love and raise them!

Stefons Birthday Date.

On Saturday we took Stefon for his birthday date. He picked to go to Fat Cats just like Daxton had (he loves to do everything his big brother does). We had tons of fun bowling 2 games, playing mini-golf, doing all of the arcade games (Stefon and Layne together won 1,600 tickets Stefon was so happy he hit a 500 ticket jack pot on his first try), picking out prizes and playing air hockey. Stefon thought it was awesome he beat me at bowling and air hockey. It really is a great time to spend special 1 on 1 time with just us and each boy we really enjoy it and it seems like they do to. I love the fun conversations we have and the time we spend together! It was a blast... the only tragedy is I slipped with the bowling ball and wacked my knee. I pulled the ligament and ripped the cartlidge and am in a pretty awesome brace for now. I go on Friday to meet with a orthopedic specialist to see whats next. I am so bummed because I was going to run a 10k in honor of Kael on Saturday.... so I guess I will have to put that on my bucket list for next year. I am so grateful to have such good kiddos and love each of them to death!! It was a fun, fun day for all included!

Fathers Day

How lucky we are to have Layne on Fathers Day. I feel like such a blessed wife and am so thankful for all that he does for us and our kids. He is one amazing daddy and I couldnt ask for more. He loves each of our kiddos with his whole heard and would do anything for any of us!!  We had a great Fathers Day weekend. Laynes brother came down to spend the weekend with us. We spent it eating yummy food, riding his Harley, chatting, swimming, and just being together. On Fathers Day we woke up and gave Layne his presents, we watched movies and then got ready for the day. We went to his new favorite resturant for lunch and then headed home to rest a bit. Once done resting we headed to his Aunt Kays house for dinner and swimming for the kiddos. My dad joined us there for dinner. Afterwards we came home and met up with my brother and his family and played games and just hung out. It was a lovely Fathers Day weekend.

Stefon turned 6!!

On Saturday Stefon turned 6!! Holy smokes where did the time go? I honestly cant believe he is 6. Stefon has learned and grown so much this past year. Hes not so wild and crazy and has really become quite a good kid. Stefon is very spunky, stubborn and free spirited. He loves to have fun and run and giggle. He is super sweet to his brothers and will often offer to help me out around the house all though he does like "prizes" when he helps. Stefon has made our lives so happy! He brings joy to us each and every day and teaches us new things all of the time. I am so happy that he is ours. He truly is a great kid whom I love and adore! On Friday night we had Stefons birthday party. He had tons of family and friends come out to support him. Stefon choose the theme of Scooby Doo. He loves Scooby! We got Scooby balloons, he got a scooby shirt to wear, we had a Scooby Pinata and Scooby colored plates and utensils and a Scooby cake. The guests got Scooby party boxes. It was so much fun!! Some of Stefons cousins and friends slept over and they watched Scooby cartoons. It was such a fun birthday party. I am so thankful to those who came out to celebrate Stefons birthday with us. It meant the world to him and us. This weekend we will take Stefon on his birthday date he is super excited! I am so thankful for Stefon and am so happy he is ours!

Daxs school performance.

Last Friday Daxs class had their end of year singing performance. It was so cute to see and hear all of the songs that the kids had learned throughout the year. They had one for each holiday and each season. Some of them had actions etc. It was super cute! Its amazing to me how much he has learned and grown this year! I am so proud of Daxton he lights up my world!

My wish

Layne and I have a song for each of our boys. Something that struck us as something we wanted to dedicate so to speak to them. Kaels song was My Wish by Rascal Flatts. The words are written below. We love this song, we sang it to Kael all of the time. The words were just what we wanted for him. We never knew for sure what kind of a life he would live, never knew how long we would have with him so this matched perfectly. When Kael passed away we were going to have this sung at his funeral but the painst couldnt quite get it so before the song we replaced it with was sung the words to My Wish were read. It was so beautiful! The boys including Landon know that this is Kaels song whenever we hear it on the radio, I have it on my phone etc. Landon asks for Kaels song and loves to dance to it. Over the weekend Layne and I attended a wedding for a couple whom we are good friends with. The guy is actually Laynes boss. When it came time for dancing this was the song that was played for the daddy/daugther dance. While it was beautiful it was also heart breaking. As soon as we heard the intro Layne and I both knew what it was. He grabbed my hand and started rubbing it as we spoke the words together. It was quite an emotional/special moment. It was all I could do to not break down and cry. I asked Layne if we should go outside actually but he looked at me and said we can do this.. so we stayed, we listened to the song, we watched the dance and held each other while speaking the words. I couldnt help myself but think wed never have this moment with Kael, he wont get married here on earth, he wont get his dance... but we can dance for him! It really got me to thinking about the future. How crazy to think our boys will one day get married and that little piece that will always be missing. Its so crazy how these things come out of the blue. A little strike even in the happiest of moments. We didnt let it get us down we still jived the night away and had a good time  but it sure was a emotional/amazing few minutes. The song is beautiful. Take a moment to listen to it, really listen to the words.. its exactly what we wished/still wish for our sweet little man!!

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you wanna go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile.
But more than anything, more than anything...

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but you never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And always give more than you take.
But more than anything, yeah, more than anything...

Yeah, yeah.

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish (my wish, for you).

This is my wish (my wish, for you)
I hope you know somebody loves you (my wish, for you).
May all your dreams stay big (my wish, for you). http://youtu.be/bhrCc8VCHns

Zoo Trip

Holy cow I cant believe this school year is almost over! I think I may have said that a time or two already but really, really I cant believe it. On Thursday Stefons class had their field trip to the Hogle Zoo.  We rode the bus there, stopped at a park to have lunch first then off to the zoo we went. I was in charge of 6 kids.. now I know that's not alot but when you are responsible for some one else's kids and your at a CROWDED zoo it is a bit stressful. None the less we had a blast. We visited the new exhibits which had otters, sea lions and polar bears it also had brown bears. Stefon was dying to see th polar bears and they were so entertaining!! He was doing flips in the water and playing with his food bowls it was so entertaining. We all had a blast, everyone came out alive and seemes to enjoy themselves. When we got back I took Stefon on a mini date to get a slushy from Sonic because it was so stinking HOT!! We had such a fun time and I am so glad I was able to go! I love spending time with my kiddos and being part of their education! 2 more weeks and its officially summer... I cant believe both boys will be in all day school... time sure flies when your having fun!!
