I am married to an amazing man we celebrated our 11 year anniversarry in April. We have 6 amazing children 4 here on earth with us and 2 angels in heaven (Kael who passed away at 5 months 3 weeks old and an early miscarriage baby at 7 weeks old. Just taking life one day at a time. Never take anything for granted!
Christmas this year was very good to us. We certainly were blessed and have so many things to be thankful for!! Christmas eve we did our tradition of going to Layne's family Christmas Party. Before heading there we stopped to visit Kael and give him his Christmas gifts. There was so much snow but we were able to dig out some. Once done we headed to Kays house they always have tons of yummy food and its great to see everyone. Once we got home the boys found their gifts from the elves (some kind, kind people did some amazing things for our family this year and we couldn't be more thankful), put on their Christmas jammies and got busy making reindeer food, spreading it across the yard along with carrots and putting out cookies for Santa. Once that was all done Layne read them the night before Christmas this has become such a fun tradition. We let them stay up for a bit then sent them to bed so Santa could come. Layne's brother and his girlfriend had been down from Wyoming since Friday and stayed with us all week so they helped us get everything set up and ready for the morning. At 330 the kids came in our room and were so excited that Santa had come they wanted to open presents right then we convinced them it was to early and tucked them back in bed. At 730 they were up again so we decided they could open presents. Watching them is always so much fun! Kids on Christmas is such an amazing thing they got so super excited about everything. Layne and I's big gift this year was a new washer and dryer since ours decided to go out a week before Christmas... After we were all done opening presents we headed to Layne's moms house for our annual Christmas breakfast. My dad joined us there as always and we ate more yummy food. The kids got to open all of their gifts from the grandparents and aunt they played for a bit and then we headed home. The rest of the day was spent with visitors and playing with all of their new things. It was a beautiful day one spent with lots of love, hugs and kisses. My sweet sister in law took Kaels clothes and made the beautiful blanket above and gave it to me a few days before Christmas. It was by far my favorite gift but will have a post of its own :). Holidays are so bitter sweet missing one of our kiddos but we surely are blessed and do our best daily to be thankful for all that we have. All in all id say Christmas 2013 was a huge success!!
