Weekend Getaway

So this past weekend Layne's company flew us out to Portland for the weekend. It was lots of fun and a nice get away. They put us up at the Marriott downtown it was a beautiful place!! Very up scale and nice. When we got there we checked in and then went to this really nice restaurant for lunch. We chatted with some people and then went back to the room to rest our view from the room was over the river it was so pretty!! After nap time we went to their annual business meeting where they talked about the company where they ended 2010 and goals for 2011. That evening they help a huge banquet in the Marriott ballroom. They served us this 7 course meal which was totally fancy and served us up lots of yummy drinks. They recognized their top performers of the year. After we were all done eating they had a DJ come in and we danced for a few hours. When we were done there we headed to a local bar where a bunch of the guys from Layne's company were playing a live band. A few of them were from right here in SLC from Layne's branch who we are friends with so it was really fun watching them play and singing along. We chatted with friends for the remainder of the night and headed back to the hotel at about 1:30 am. It was a fun filled packed weekend and such a nice little get away for Layne and I. I was so mad I forgot my camera but I did take a few pics from my cell phone. Sorry about the quality but I needed a few to remember our fun little get away!!
